Hello lovelies, new week, new blogposts, and today I'm so excited to share with you a couple of Charlotte Tilbury makeup items that my husband had picked up for me while he was in England. Talk about a "perfect gentleman" ehh!!! Anyway I love these goodies and I wanna talk you through some pros and cons about them so that you have a rough idea of how they are if you are thinking of purchasing them cuz they ain't cheap you know.
I have to get one of her iconic eyeshadow palettes if I'm gonna get something from Charlotte Tilbury right?! They are such hyped up products in her line and everybody who has them loves them, and I am an no exception. I got the Dolce Vita palette which I believe is the most popular one, and may I just say how gorgeous is the rose gold packaging!!!
I'm gonna be completely honest here, if you are looking for Urban Decay kind of buttery soft eyeshadows then, well they are not... They are actually rather hard, as in nicely pressed as far as pigments. They are very nice to work with though in terms of packing on colours, blending etc. despite the fact that they ain't that soft. You know what, I actually prefer eyeshadows are not overly soft because for one thing, they are easy to break, and for another thing, they tend to crease easily than the harder ones which means poor lasting power. The eyeshadows in the palette all last pretty well on me throughout the day with a primer of course because I have oily eye lids except the "pop" one which is the glitter shade. I find that the pigmentation of the glitter shadow fades as the day progresses although the glitters themselves stay on with no problem.
Now let's talk about the colours in this palette. Ohh boy where do I begin? They are simply gorgeous either on their own or together, day and night. You can do a very natural look by using the prime and enhance shades, or intense it up for night look by using smoke and the pop colours. I love it, haven't been able to put it down ever since I got it. The possibilities are endless with this palette and I couldn't ask for more.
Some looks I did with the Dolce Vita Palette (all with MAC Groundwork Paint Pot underneath)
with only the "smoke" shade on then blend out
with "prime" all over the lids and "enhance" over crease and outer corner (no mascara)
with only the "pop" shade on (no mascara)
with all 4 colours: "prime" all over, "enhance" over crease, "smoke" on outer corners and close lasher lines both upper and lower, and finally "pop" on the centre of the lids
A little tip here: the "prime" shade is gorgeous to use as an highlighter. I love dusting this on my cheek bones, bridge of my nose as well as my cupid's bow. Gorgeous! Try it and you'll know what I'm talking about!
I know that Beach Sticks by Charlotte are from the summer collection but I just couldn't resist because they look so beautiful on her website. I went for the Moon Beach one and wow, just wow. If you are looking for a softer/subtle version of the NARS Orgasm blusher then look no further. The colour is exactly like NARS Orgasm but softer and more glowy. I love a good peachy pink blusher and the glowy gold shimmers are just a bonus.
The texture is very silicony, and I find the best way to apply is straight from the bullet then blend out with fingers. This stuff is so easy to blend, stays on and smells ahh-mazing, like vanilla ice-cream. Highly recommend!
It's not the cheapest cream blusher I know, but you pay what you get, her products are just so lush and gorgeous. I have my eyes on the Es Vedra shade now and I think I will probably get it for Christmas!
straight from the bullet
blended out with fingers
That's it guys. Charlotte Tilbury makeup are pure luxury and high quality. Christmas is coming and they'll just make great gifts for us beauty junkies. Am I right?
The look I did with both products. By the way I didn't have mascara on because I just couldn't be bothered... Sorry...., and layered the beach stick with the Hourglass Ambient Lighting blusher in Dim Infusion on top. Pretty ehh?!
Thank you beauties for sticking around with me and see you in a couple of days. Wait... what is your favourite Charlotte Tilbury item?
