Disappointing Products #1 (Skincare n Haircare)

I love trying new things as we all know and sometimes not everything work the way we hope they do let's face it. Today I am going to talk about products I bought in the past that don't work for me. This is part one which contains all skincare and one hair products.  Let's do it!

No.1: Garnier Dry Shampoo

As you can see here there's no powder coming out whatsoever. It's just a hair spray. I like my dry shampoos quite powdery so I feel like the powder inside could really absorb the greasiness in my hair, and make it fresh again. This doesn't do that AT ALL. Disappointing! The thing is that I know a lot of people like this dry shampoo but it just doesn't work for me.

No.2: Clinique Take the Day off Cleansing Balm. I actually got it based on Caroline Hirons blogpost, and also I know that it's a favorite of a lot of beauty bloggers, but sadly it's not for me.

It is too waxy which I don't care for it and it has no scent. I know what you are all thinking. What? Scent? Isn't it better with no scent?! Yes I know but I like my cleansing balms with a bit of natural spa like scent to them, like the Emma Hardie one and the Oskia Perfect Cleanser which I absolutely love. I have done a full blogpost on the Oskia Perfect Cleanser if you are interested click right here.

This Clinique cleansing balm does the job pretty nicely in terms of taking off makeup and cleansing the face but I just prefer my Emma Hardie and Oskia ones. What can I say?!

No.3: Palmer's Purifying Mask. Disappointing very disappointing with this one. I think I only used it twice and then left it in my cabinet. I'll tell you why.

It smells WAY TOO STRONG. I just can't handle it. It makes me nauseous. In addition, it sort of break me out a little, and I never break out with products so that's pretty upsetting. It just doesn't do what it says on the tin in my opinion. However that being said I will keep it but to use it on my body, why not? The skin on the body is much thicker and there's no harm to try right?

No.4: Clarins Gentle Peeling Mask. I love Clarins. I have tried so many of their skincare products and they never disappoint me. In fact the lip balm from Clarins is my HG lip balm. But this mask for some reason just doesn't agree with my skin.

It makes me rather red after scrubbing off the dead skin. It's funny actually the reason why I bought it is because it doesn't contain the actual exfoliating beads, it's just a think cream and you put it on then rub it off. However my face is very red and almost raw feeling after so that just puts me off. Sorry Clarins I love you but not this one!

No.5: Hyaluronic acid mask from Helan. Helan is an Italian cosmetic and skincare brand and I have tried quite a few things from it. One thing I don't like about its products is the strong scent. Ohh my when I say strong I meant STRONG.

I guess by now you guys can tell that scent is very important to me. If it puts me off then even the best product I would not use it. Anyway another thing is that after leaving this mask on for about 10 mins my face becomes cherry red and not in a good way. It's almost like I am allergic to it but the thing is that it didn't happen for the first month when I used it. It happened after when I used half way then every time I put this on my face becomes very red. I don't know why but I do know that I should stop using it.

No.6: Clarins Gentle Exfoliating Toner. This is such a hyped up product in the beauty world and that's why I bought it. I have read several blogs including the one from Caroline Hirons. Sadly it didn't work for me as I hoped it would. I prefer the Pixi Glow Tonic (click here to see my Evening Skincare Routine about this toner) over this Clarins one.

I feel like it breaks me out a little, my face is a lot redder afterwards. I don't like when my face is red as my cheeks are pretty red already naturally so I don't need any products that make my face even redder. Therefore I stopped using it.

I hope this is helpful and I'll see you all tomorrow for part two which are all makeup products that disappointed me. Bye! Muah!
