Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask

You guys all know how much I'm obsessed with the Glamglow Youthmud TingleExfoliate Treatment Mask. It is hands down the best exfoliating mask I've ever tried... But I think I just found something that is equally as good and effective, should I call it the "dupe" of the GlamGlow one? Because it basically does the same thing and costs pretty much the same but you get 5 times more product than you would with the GlamGlow. Intrigued? Hear me out!

There we go: Pumpkin Enzyme Mask by Peter Thomas Roth. I got it in a kit awhile back and it contains three of Peter's best selling masks. I was gonna do a blogpost on all three in once but I have a lot to say about each and every one of them so today is just gonna be about this one but reviews of the other 2 are coming up.

(This is the kit I got which contains 3 masks. Each of them has 50ml/1.7 fl oz of product. Unfortunately it is sold out as it is limited edition but you can purchase them separately and I just found out that Sephora now carried another of this set but in travel sizes so make sure to check it out here if you are interested.)

First of all, this stuff smells incredible, like cakes, just makes me wanna eat it. The colour of the actual product is like pumpkin colour but has a bit brown in it, like when pumpkins being left for a while. However, I don't feel like this has the pumpkin scent to be honest but that being said it is still delightful to use.

(It has a jelly kind of texture which is very interesting.)

What makes this product special is that it exfoliates your skin in 3 ways:
  • exfoliates with pumpkin enzyme
  • peels with alpha hydroxy acid
  • and polishes with aluminum oxide

This stuff in my opinion is very powerful as far as exfoliating goes, and that is why it is so effective in treating dull, ageing, and congested skin. It doesn't tingle like the Youthmud from GlamGlow but I can feel it is working. It's hard to describe the feeling but you can just tell it's doing its job.

It contains both chemical peel ingredients as well as the actual exfoliating beads, but the beads are super duper tiny and fine which doesn't irritate my skin at all. If you have been following my blog  for a while you'll know that I'm not a fan of beads exfoliators because they are just to harsh for someone like me with a sensitive skin, and that's why I was a little sceptical at the beginning. But it is without a doubt one of the best exfoliating masks I have ever tried, like the GlamGlow one, just makes my skin feeling not just soft, but baby's bum soft, even, and youthful.

2 things to note:
  1. if you are sensitive to enzymes or any kinds of acids I would recommend trying a little at the back of your ears first as I mentioned before this is a pretty powerful exfoliating mask, but if you are fine with the GlamGlow mask then I think you're be ok, but again it is always a good idea to test it before because everyone is different.
  2. please apply your sun screen before going out if you use this the night before because AHA may increase skin's sensitivity to the sun and particularly the possibility of sunburn.
(The little white dots are the actual beads. See how tiny they are!)

It is recommended to use 1 or 2 times a week. Apply a thin layer on the skin but remember to avoid the eye area, then wet your finger tips and gently massage in a circular motion to exfoliate. Leave it on for about 3-7 minutes then rinse off. Remember it is very important that you do not leave this on  for over 10 minutes because it might be too much for your skin especially for the first time.

That's it, that's everything I have to say. Seriously guys, try it if you like the GlamGlow Youthmud mask, I think you'll really enjoy this one too but with a cheaper price. This mask can be purchased at Sephora USA, unfortunately I cannot find this mask at cultbeauty nor beautybay despite the fact that they both carry Peter Thomas Roth products. I have no idea why...

Thank you beauties! xoxo
