Hello lovlies, happy Tuesday! Can't believe it'll be Christmas in less than 2 weeks and honestly I can't wait... I know that a lot of you plan to wear false lashes for Christmas parties or New Year's eve party but if you are not into falsies and wanna look for a good mascara that will give you a natural look then you might wanna keep reading on today's post.
New Makeup New Look
I've got 2 here to show you today, and one is a hit and the other one I don't recommend at all. Let's start with the hit, shall we?!
Meet Tarte Gifted Amazonian Clay Smart Mascara. I got this in a kit a while back from Sephora and I've been really enjoying it. It is the kind of mascara I would go for on a no-makeup makeup day.
(2 coats on top and 1 thin coat on my bottom lashes)
It separates, coats my lashes really well, gives me a little volume and lengthens, never look clumpy no matter how many coats I put on. I love the small to medium sized brush head because it really just gets in the corner of my eyes and coats every single lash that I didn't know I had. It is easy to take off as well and I really like the bamboo looking packaging.
The reason why I say it is a no-makeup makeup kinda mascara is because it looks very natural, even with 3 coats on. It doesn't give a dramatic look so it's very school and office appropriate. It would be nice to wear on Christmas day lunch with the family I think.
It is not my HG mascara, nothing will ever replace my L' Oreal False Lash Architect Waterproof mascara, but it is a pretty good one nevertheless. Like I said it is a natural looking mascara and I always wear this during the day time or when I don't wanna go through the "cleansing hassle" in the evening as it is so easy to take off with just Bioderma.
Now let's move on to the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara. Not only the name is pretty "tacky" but also it might be the worst mascara I have ever tried. I had high hope for this one because everybody talks about it and saying how good it is but my lashes just don't agree with it. It doesn't do anything that it claims to, and the rather large curvy brush is just way too big. I'm so grateful that Sephora does point perks with this one because I wouldn't be happy if I paid for the full size. It's not worth the money in my opinion.
I think this mascara is for someone who has big eyes and big lashes to start with, and it'll just really enhance them but for girls like me with small eyes and short straight lashes this just don't cut it.
With this mascara, it doesn't matter how many coats I put on, it just looks like I have nothing on, I don't know what's with it, maybe I just got a bad one, but it did nothing, literally! I wouldn't recommend this mascara but feel free to try if you are curious, it might work for you. I have pretty hard and straight lashes so not a lot of mascaras work for me but if you already have nice curvy lashes then I think this could work.
Have you tried them yet? What are your thoughts?
